Now that we’re pretty much waiting for the season to end I’d like to see some more minutes for some players from the youth teams. McManus and Mullins have bags of talent but don’t have the experience yet and get knocked around a bit. Why not chuck them in and get them more used to senior football for next year? Nixon Okosun is a striker with Ireland youth caps so is he worth a go? I don’t really follow the youth teams so I’m not sure who’s about the club at the moment that’s knocking on the first team door.

Varian & Afolabi are only young lads as well. Afolabi looked dangerous for the few minutes that he has played - hopefully can get over his injuries. Varian needs to prove himself, showed flashes but genuinely hasn't looked like scoring. I agree with you about McManus, one of the few positive this season. Mullins is a strange one, has been good in flashes but is likely to be gone in the summer on a poxy deal. Frustrating. Haven't seen enough of Okosun but we can't look any more blunt than now so why not give him a shot.
Really weird ending the Kevin's link now as well, we've got a few really good players through that & no sign of a load of players coming from elsewhere

Hopefully Afolabi can get fit. Was making nice runs that the other lads couldn’t see quick enough and I swear he played a crossfield switch out in the Showgrounds that might have been the best pass I’ve seen live at any level. I think if he’s fit next year he can score a stack of goals at LOI level.
Mullins has been rumoured to have been on Brightons radar since they took Ferguson over. No doubt we’ll a poxy fee for him when he eventually goes somewhere but you have to make the most of these lads while we have them. Hopefully himself and McManus have one last growth spurt in them!
I’ll need to look into the Kevin’s link again to be a bit clearer on where we stand but assuming we still have good relations with the club and coaches what’s stopping the players from coming to Bohs anyway with that link gone? Doesn’t it also open the door to us going for lads at the likes of Belvo/Joeys etc? That Kevin’s link was huge for us over the last few years don’t get me wrong but we’ve got a good rep now for developing players from academy to first team and getting them to the UK. If I was doing well at 16s/17s level and wanting to go pro then Bohs would be a great option.

I think the Kevins link went a bit sour when a lot of their players were joining other academy's at LOI level (Zefi etc...). The other dub clubs have links with numerous clubs and so get a more rounded choice, I believe that's the plan, more affiliates so more choice. We have also been taking a lot of Joeys lads (Long has links).
I'd agree with trying the young lads but if they were to get a few hidings the confidence would drain. Tough call.
