This is the big one, the game before the even bigger game in the Aviva. Normally, the Bohs supporters would be feeling positive about the result, seen as we are playing a First Division side. However, this team are managed by two heavyweights in football management, Caulfield and Horgan and their combined football acumen has managed to turn this Galway team into runaway winners of the First Division. In the FAI Cup, they have also trounced both Premier League teams, UCD and Dundalk in the last two rounds. Impressive stats.
We have a stronger midfield and a top class centre forward, so both these areas will look after themselves, especially now Devine has realised that Bucko makes our midfield tick and will definitely play him there. However, our defence is weak and has been all season, especially the two Centre halves. I expect Galway to bypass the midfield, at times and go straight for our defence with their wing play and straight lobs into the box. Radkowsi’s ridiculous tackle in the last few minutes against Sligo, for that penalty award, will give Galway something to think about and they will try to exploit these two defenders. Bucko, Clarke and McManus (if he plays) are good defensively and can help out our defence, so that is a good thing. We can’t afford to play deep and give them free kicks, as dead all kicks is one of their strengths and is how they will try to beat us.
Come on Bohs.
